Well, well, well, lookee here.. we’re about to get a little more use from the Good Enough Mother U-Stream channel. Ella (our crack assistant who keeps the GEM engine from jumping the tracks) and I were talking about a way where we could be truly interactive because, let’s face it, that’s the really fun part of this. I’m not in it to hear the sound of my own voice; heck I KNOW what that sounds like from the voices in my head competing for airtime. No, I want to hear from you, what you think about things in the news, raising kids, relationships and life in general.

So the aforementioned crack assistant and I came up with a great idea; we’re gonna go LIVE! Next Wednesday night, Good Enough Mother presents the first ever, Ask Rene: LIVE! Most of you are already familiar with Ask Rene. Well this will be a chance for you to ask me your questions in real time. We’ll start the evening with a few topics that I’d love to get your take on, then open it up for Q and A. Nothing will be off limits so bring your “A Game” and a glass of wine. More on that in the coming days.

Now, a bit of business. Good Enough Mother is growing like gangbusters, with huge traffic gains for which I really must thank YOU. It appears all those years of laboring in virtual obscurity are about to pay off in a major way (why in the heck didn’t someone tell me that it would take 7 years to become an “overnight success”?) so watch this space for some big announcements coming soon.

Hello to the folks at the Birmingham News!

I am a long-time subscriber and resident of Hoover.  Just my two-cents worth but I’m enjoying the ‘Ask Rene’ column that I’ve noticied recently on Sundays.  Would like to see it more often.  Maybe it could run daily or at least run on Wednesdays too?  She seems very level-headed and gives very practical, wise and entertaining advice.  As far as I’m concerned it could easily replace ‘Dear Abby’.  I know that would probably not go over well with some who have read her column (and her sister?) for years…but it seems her advice really isn’t that great.  I would rather hear lots of other people….from lots of different backgrounds even…Dr. Drew (from TV), Dr. Billy Graham, etc. Again, just my opinion but I thought I’d share it with you.
