First, I have to apologize for this post being so late. Couple crazy travel schedule with my natural struggle for organization, throw in a couple of really big projects (announcements will be forthcoming) and what do you have? I don’t need to go on now, do I?

Before too much time gets away, I wanted to share with you the fun, fun, FUN that was this year’s Disney Social Media Moms conference. Now you know this conference has a special place in my heart because it’s where I had what I call my, “coming out party” last year. It was the first time I stood up on stage and put in a single, cohesive speech, all the stuff that I had gone through over the last 5 or 6 years. And those women enveloped me like a warm blanket.

At any rate, this year I had a chance to attend as a guest, which of course meant, the pressure was off. Whew. It was great to catch up with the friends I made last year and have kept in touch with online as well as make new ones.

Debbie Mitchell of The Blogger Connection and our intrepid assistant, Ella

We arrived at the Disney Yacht Club right around midday, the Florida sun, a welcome change to the dreary weather we’d been experiencing in the New York area. As soon as we arrived, we beat feet for the registration desk. There was a teeny bit of downtime before the fun began that night with The Pirate Party.

Debbie, Rene and Ella… ARG!

After great party that night, it was time to go to work and that meant the actual conference (if you could call that work). The speaker line-up was remarkable; Amy Jo Martin from Digital Royalty, followed by Ramon De Leon of Domino’s Pizza, Peter Shankman , Lisa Druxman of Stroller Strides. Then Chris Brogan brought it all home.

Ramon De Leon of Domino’s… Don’t ask..

Debbie: you’re never too old for Mickey..

After spending the day, learning how to take our blogs and social media lives to the next level, it was time for more fun, and we found it at Animal Kingdom.

look great on everyone!

I couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up a day of growth and learning. But there was more including The Wild Africa Trek. More on that tomorrow!

Disclosure: Disney paid for Team GEM to take part in the fun at Disney Social Media Moms but rest assured, these opinions are my own and hey, I always give it to you straight, don’t I?
