Rene's Remote
Dancing With The Stars: A Tale Of Two Dancers
15So last night I got my tumbler of wine and settled in to watch what has truly become appointment viewing in my book, ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
It’s fun to watch the show as the dancers progress from looking like they’d get lost in an Arthur Murray dance class to bona fide hoofers. Of course what makes it even more fun is all the unofficial snarking that goes on on the GEM Facebook page and Twitter feed and last night was no different.
The first show of the season had it all; highlights, More >
Should Child Beauty Pageants Be Banned?

We’ve talked about TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras here at Good Enough Mother before – but since the new season launched over the holidays the show seems to be reaching a whole new level of shocking!
Just this week we saw two-year-old Mia who started her routine in an angel costume and ended up as Madonna, circa 1990, in a bright yellow cone bra. Now remember that outfit was made famous on the Blonde Ambition world tour and was worn as Madonna performed Like A Virgin and simulated masturbation on More >
RENE’S REMOTE: SHAMELESS

Two in a row for Rene’s Remote! It’s gonna be a big Sunday TV night for Good Enough Mother.
The funny thing is I don’t really watch a lot of TV, which is odd for someone who has made her living in the medium for so long (TV news, not entertainment). But hats off to Showtime who have two hot new shows airing tonight that I’m going to have to plant my ample backside in a chair to watch. Following the premiere of Matt Le Blanc’s Episodes comes Shameless, which, just like the earlier show, is a

RENE’S REMOTE: EPISODES
1It’s Rene’s Remote time again – our little guide to a few upcoming TV GEM’s!
So everyone better get out of my way because I have a date with the TV this Sunday night. It takes a lot for me to want to watch something live – normally I watch it online as I have become one with my laptop. But this new offering from Showtime, oh man, I cannot WAIT to see.
Episodes stars Matt LeBlanc, playing himself, opposite British actors Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig. It’s the story of what happens when a More >
RENE’S REMOTE: LIVE TO DANCE
3It’s time for another new feature here on Good Enough Mother!
I’ve noticed so many parenting sites talk about nothing but kids and babies – and that’s not what GEM is all about. For me, being a Good Enough Mother is about more than packing lunches and coping with tantrums (though that’s certainly part of it). GEM is a way of living your life and seeing the world. And you don’t have to be a mom or even a woman to embrace the Good Enough Mother philosophy. It’s all about perfect imperfection, More >
THE VIEW: ON BOARD THE BULLY BUS
6
Wow, it all kicked off on The View today?
The women were talking about the recent story of James Jones, the Florida father who boarded a school bus to confront the kids allegedly bullying his special needs daughter. I wrote about this story a couple of days ago and the point I made was that while I can see the Jones’ point of view, I thought it was tragic all around; for Jones, his daughter and the other kids on the bus, who by their proximity, were subjected to Jones’ rage.
